Works on canvas that are a response to nature in its most elemental form.
Inspired by the weather and the overwhelming drama that comes from atmospheric phenomenon, these canvases are of clouds that hide vast chasms or rushing river torrents that disappear into the depths. Each piece is a work of imagination that marries the abstract with natural forms and processes.
The natural world is a place of chaos and order. Uplifting, chaotic, terrifying, joyful, sickening, foreboding and exultant are just some of the words that might describe our emotional states when experiencing nature. Each artwork is a reaction to a world that seems somehow out of kilter and is way beyond our ability to tame it. Unsettling or unnerving or strangely calming, they demand an emotional response.
